I’ve played the role of mother of the bride several times in the past (ahem!) few years, but nothing is better than actually being the bride. And one of the best things about your wedding day is the fact that, well, it’s your wedding day! So it’s important to add your own personal touches, whether you have a wedding planner or not. First, you can start adding your personal flair to your wedding before the big day even arrives. For example, one element that can easily be personalized is the wedding invitations. Forget about boring old paper stationary, why not get with the digital age and send a video invitation? You and your partner could do a funny skit, a heartfelt speech, or a self-roast. If so, consider designing the programs like giant beer bottle labels.
Finally and perhaps most obviously, your wedding favors are definitely candidates for a high dose of personalization. The most personal approach is to create your own wedding favors. But if you’re not the crafty type, simply search high and low for small objects you can buy in quantity that somehow reflect the personalities of you both. Give this one a lot of thought, because your wedding guests will be taking these objects home and as such they can make a lasting impression.
