Just got that invitation to a summer wedding and wondering what to wear ?
Often, you'll need to buy a dress several months before the wedding, particularly if you are a relative or close
family, or the mother of the bride or groom.
Remembering how warm it will be and what kind of clothing is suitable to wear can be a challenge in the middle
of winter or even spring, when there are still chilly days.
For older women, you may prefer a classic style of a floral or plain dress with a smart jacket and
matching clutch bag.
Choose dresses with shorter sleeves, or sleeveless dress styles with spaghetti straps which will look elegant on
most women, if you are happy with showing your upper arms.
Younger wedding guests and friends may wish to wear a simple dress, or skirt and top, in a shift type style,
which looks particularly great if you are a petite size.
If you're on a budget, theres plenty of cheap summer formal style dresses that you can accessorise and dress up
for a one off occasion. A simple shift dress can easily be dressed up with a smart bag, belt or length of
ribbon worn as a sash.
If you're really on a budget, then buying something in the sales that you can wear for special occasions,
parties or weddings may be the answer.

Etiquette for your outfit is that you don't wear anything too revealing, but reasonably modest.
For cooler or windy days or evenings, simply add a wrap around the shoulders, for a little added
warmth.
One style which looks great on just about every woman is the wrap dress, which can be dressed up for formal
occasions, but is also great for a summer party or just spending time with friends.
For the fuller figure wearing plus sizes, there are some great formal dresses available in most of the popular
stores for curvier ladies, such as Presen or Curvety.
