Latest Trends for Mother of the Bride Wear

Styles for 2010 are set by the spring and summer designer collections in London, Paris and New York. 

On the catwalks for top designers, such as Vera Wang, Amanda Wakeley and Ritva Westenius, there are some stunning designs this season.

It may be helpful to know what styles the bride may be wearing, before considering latest fashions for the mother of the bride.

Vera Wang Bridal Collection

The latest season offers both beautiful bridal gowns and accessories, such as shoes, veils, shawls and wraps.

There are some beautiful soft fabrics, mostly in white or ivory but some dresses in soft warm colours. 

Styles include strapless A-line gowns in fabrics such as chantilly lace, silk chiffon, tulle, silk organdy and tiered gowns fashioned in the shape of a mermaid.

The attention to detail with horizontal bands in bias taffeta  are typical of Vera Wangs detailing with soft, yet sumptuous fabrics.

The current Amanda Wakeley collection includes some beautiful halterneck and off the shoulder designs.

For brides who enjoy that historic look, Scottish designer, Lindsay Fleming, offers celtic and medieval inspired timeless gowns.

Ritva Westenius takes haute couture to a new level with her beautiful designs in silk, satin and lace.

Finally, Oscar de la Renta brought in a number of short wedding dresses for their Spring 2009 collection.  As usual, the collection includes some beautiful romantic designs, with detailing in silk organza, where any bride is likely to find the dress of her dreams.

Latest Mother of the Bride Fashions for Summer 2010

For mothers, whilst the fashion doesn't alter too much during the changing seasons, it's important to wear something stylish yet contemporary.
