Fall & Winter Wedding Ideas

There are some beautiful dresses to wear for a winter wedding .Pretty red headed bride in fur with lilies

Although spring and summer may be more traditional times to get married, a winter wedding can be the perfect season for any bride.

There are some great theme ideas for weddings held in this season, including Christmas or Winter Wonderland.

Unless you live somewhere it's warm all year round, an outdoor wedding is unlikely, with a church or indoor ceremony and reception being a more popular choice.

For 2009 Amanda Wakeley and Ritva Westenius couture collections offered stunning bridal gowns , perfect for any winter day.

Even if your budget doesn't run to a designer look, you may find inspiration from a number of designs to help inspire you to create your own.

What Should Guests Wear to a Winter Wedding ?

For wedding guests, a similar look with co-ordinating dress and smart jacket or coat, will help keep you warm whilst still fitting in with the formal style.  Choose a style that will look great in photographs, but that is layered so you can shed a layer or two at the reception.

Both the wedding and the reception will be indoors, so wear appropriate clothing, teamed with a warm coat and scarf, if needed.

During fall, wearing browns, greens matches the tone of the falling leaves and they're seasonal, yet strong colours.  This is not really a time for wearing pastel shades, but stronger colors, possibly even reds, purples and orange.

For a Christmas occasion, a touch of red looks bright and cheerful - perhaps a scarf or gloves, to add a little cheer to your outfit.

If the weather is likely to be very cold, buying matching gloves will help keep you warm, whilst looking stylish and co-ordinating.  When choosing footwear, consider shoes or even fur boots, for that something unusual that will also keep you warm!
