What to Wear to a Wedding: Wedding Guest Attire & Clothing

There is an etiquette regarding what to wear to a wedding. Wedding guest attire is not rocket science, but what you wear must be appropriate.Pretty young woman guest at a weddding

However, within that, it's possible to find something that feels comfortable and looks fabulous on you. 

For younger girls, there are some pretty junior formal dresses which you can dress down to wear again for parties and family celebrations. 

For new moms, don't worry too much about finding the right wedding outfits for young children and infants, just find something smart, clean and tidy, making sure that you have a bib and also a change of clothing in case they spill food.  Do be aware of your child making noise, particularly during the ceremony, as this can be most distracting.  Try and sit at the back of the church so that if you do need to leave, you can do so quickly and quietly.

If you're still unsure about the proper wedding guest attire, either phone the person who invited you or wear something that you'd feel comfortable wearing to the best restaurant in town. This is very important, as there will be lots of photos and socializing and hence you're going to want to look your best. When in doubt, it is better to overdress than to underdress.
